Testimonials

In September 2007 we set out to find an architectural Designer that we felt would be able to design the type of home we wanted. We had a pretty good idea of the style of property but felt it was important to ensure we found someone we could be confident to work with who would both understand our vision and at the same time be able to contribute to the project with their own ideas and suggestions.

During the design process Cam was able to clearly grasp our requirements and created an interesting, imaginative and innovative design. At all times he was happy to discuss any concerns we had and made a number of amendments based on our feedback. He was always helpful and happy to answer any question or concerns we had. During the build process he never hesitated to make himself available to resolve any queries and all amendments were dealt with promptly.

We would more than happy to recommend both Cam and Design & Light, a pleasure to work with.

Yours faithfully

Dear Ingrid,

Just a note to extend our thanks for the very competent and professional advice you provided when assisting with the décor and lighting for our new home at Balboa Key.

It is not always easy to envisage the finished product and your input gave us the confidence to make the appropriate decisions.  We are really pleased with the results- the colours and surface finishes have worked together well.

Settling in to the house has let us appreciate those little extras you advised we should include, and the overall effect is very much in line with what we hoped for. Your lighting suggestions were invaluable and have made a huge difference.

We have no hesitation in recommending your services and if we build again we will be sure to contact you and Cam for all the design work.

Please feel welcome to visit us as we continue to settle in and complete the landscaping.

Once again thank you for making our project enjoyable.

Yours sincerely,

Margaret & Frank Stuart

Dear Cam and Ingrid,

Just a quick note to thank you for your assistance with our building project at Tay St, Mt. Maunganui.  We really enjoyed working with you and will happily recommend you to any of our friends and colleagues.

We were impressed with how quickly you seemed to “get it” and consequently produced something we loved in your very first design.  \

We also appreciated your ability to meet our budget parameters without losing all flair in the process.

We look forward to finalising plans for our main house and hope we have as much fun with that project.

Regards,

Sally and Greg Cox

Hi Cameron,

This is just a quick note to say thanks for the effort you guys put into your plans. It certainly makes a difference at quotation stage and eventually detailing when all the information is presented so clearly and complete.

So thanks and keep up the great work.

In 2009 the centre employed the services of Cam Cotton to come up with a cnceptual plan for an early childhood centre. Cam listened to the ideas we has and also came into the centre to see what was currently working effectively. As we had a limited budget to work with, Cam was able to offer a few alternative options as back up to what we ideally wanted. The overall costs of the building came close to what the expected budget allowed for.

Once the plan was chosen things were able to move forward quite quickly. Ingrid Cotton’s services became crucial when getting us thinking about what was possible from a clean canvas perspective and she had some fantastic ideas, from colours through to lighting, which have contributed to the overall aesthetics and feel of the centre as a great space for both children and adults to work in. Although we were reluctant at first, we are so very pleased that we listened to her initial advice.

Cam’s ability to work professionally alongside our local district council became evident each time they posed new challenges. Due to our unique situation and location there were certainly many of these to deal with and we were confident that Cam was advocating on our behalf.

We have now been in our new centre since March 2010. Each morning we walk in, knowing that it has been designed optimally for children and our location in the central North Island. The transition for children has been smooth and as they are true indicators of what feels right we know that we have achieved a great place for them.
